Expensive for what it is

My friend purchased one of these and invited me over to listen to his records and to show me how clean his records were after using the Spin Clean. I was impressed how all of his records sounded and how they looked brand new. I thought cleaning records was a bunch of **** but I had to order my own after seeing and hearing the difference. Yes, it is too expensive for what it is but bottom line it works and it is way less than a ultra sonic cleaner. I don't believe that ultra sonic would clean much better for the money invested. My ears are way happier listening to record after a good Spin Cleaning. The first couple of records I cleaned and the rinsed before drying. I then cleaned some records and did not rinse them. I could not tell the difference and they all looked like new and sounded great. I did not rinse the rest of my collection after the first two records. It seemed rinsing them is just on extra step that isn't needed. Don't forget some good anti-static inner sleeves to keep the records clean after you take them for a spin.

Best way I’ve found to use this

At first I would run it through the cleaning fluid, then wipe off excessive water with the provided cloths. Worked good, but then I realized that leaving the cleaner on the record was not a good idea. So I bought another one, and now run it through the cleaner and use the second one to put plain distilled water in to rinse I then dry the record with microfiber cleaning cloths ( you can buy these on Amazon cheap. These are the same ones you use on eye glasses). It completely dries the record, and leaves absolutely no lint or dust.

Works great with a few caveats

I've only cleaned about 20 records so far, but it works so much better than anything like the old Disc Washer from the 1970s. The deep wet cleaning is exactly what the doctor ordered for old records or those used ones you find at local stores.

Now, to cut to the chase, I do think that adding one additional step will help take the Spin Clean to another level.

I am cleaning the records but leaving them wet, and I then run them through another cycle of the Spin Clean using only distilled water and a few drops of a medical grade surfactant so the distilled water penetrates deeply into the grooves. I currently use Triton-X100, but there are others available too. This seems to remove any residue from the cleaner, offering a quieter noise floor and less build up of gunk on my stylus.

All in all I would highly recommend the Spin Clean. Even using it exactly per the instructions offers a very good cleaning.

You have to figure if a product has been around 40 years, it must be doing something right.

You can find lots of reviews and videos for how to use it (and variations of that like I'm doing) online at YouTube.

Record cleaning solution

Tried this out to clean my records and it really worked . Not only do my records look clean but they sound much better . Apart from a reduction in noise detail and resolution were better . If you don't want to spend a lot of money to get your Lps clean this is the way to go .
