Beautiful large and amazing sounding speakers!

I bought a pair of these speakers as an early Christmas present for myself back in November. After hearing these speakers for the first time I was both highly impressed and completely sold that day. I upgraded to these from a pair of PSB towers of 6 years. I use them for home theater and music listening. After purchasing these I paired them with the Azur 851N network player and wow! I now listen to music more than watching movies and I own 4 subs but I prefer to listen to these speakers in stereo without any subs. The sound is so smooth and revealing of details. The bass is so accurate and gets deep and punchy with the right tracks. We’re talking mostly jazz and blues here! Drums sound like they are in the room with you and breaking through the speakers at moderate levels. I run them without port plugs and set to normal at a little over 2 feet from the rear and side walls slightly toed in. Highly recommended! Make sure you have some good power on tap as well.

Excellent Speaker

Last year, I upgraded my HT through Marty at Audio Advic e with 4 Revel Concerta M16 bookshelves and a Concerta 2 C25 center. I liked the neutral presentation as opposed to more forward/bright speakers I auditioned at Audio Advice. These speakers, paired with 2 SB3000 subwoofers were fine on the bass.

Over past year, have really enjoyed the Concerta 2's. On the AVSForum Revel thread, I noticed an unusual amount of praise for the Perfoma3 line and, if you can afford it, you would not regret moving up from the Concerta's.

So, pulled the trigger, with a Mel handling the phone order, on 2 F208's floor standers and one C205 center. Keeping the 2 M16's as rear surrounds and may use remaining 2 M16's for desktop, near field listening.
Will sell the C25.

After a few days of tweaking my Anthem MRX 1120 receiver and it's Arc Genesis Room correction system, have it dialed in pretty good. Have GIK Accoustics room treatments on the way - which should improve even more. The 3 8 inch base drivers on the F208 versus the one 6.5 base driver on the M16 make a difference. A bigger sound with more dynamic range. Hear more detail too. No listening fatigue. My bucket list speaker - for now. Liking the speakers more and more each day. If you already have subwoofer(s), continue using. The 2 channel is great and bass is there. However, offloading the sub 80hz bass to subwoofers helps the MRX1120 easily handle load for the 5.2.4 system- more bass as well. Really big and punchy on Home Theater too.

These are big speakers. The tweeters are at 43.5 inches with spikes. Sound good off axis - meaning off to left or off to right OR ears higher or lower than tweeter. Probably want to get ears to minimum of 40 inches, though. I have higher sitting listening chair on order, sitting on a cushion in meantime. Able to pull out about 2 feet from front and side walls, while still getting an 8 to 8.5 foot listening triangle. Have not noticed any boominess - Arc Genesis probably handling that. No need for bass plugs or playing with "less bass" dial on back.

In summary, If you prefer a neutral sounding speaker with a great dynamic range, excellent detail and a big sound stage, this is the speaker for you.

Large and powerful. Amazing sound for both Home Theater and Music.

I've owned many nice speakers over the years and I must say that the Revel F208's are really amazing. I love how open and spacious they sound with all types of music. Everything I throw at them from Heavy Metal to solo piano music sounds accurate, powerful and realistic. They image much better than my old KEF towers and aren't as bright as my old Klipsch RF speakers. Most of the time I choose to listen without the subwoofer because the Revels just don't need the help.

I also use these speakers in my 7.1 home theater system with their matching Performa center and surrounds along with a JL subwoofer. This is a really capable system that does justice to the modern blockbusters. I just can't find any complaints about the F208.
