Overview

New Network Streaming Capabilities

Pro-Ject has added the latest Wi-Fi technology to the package including all the latest WLAN standards and 2×2 MIMO allowing for theoretical speeds that are faster than typical modern internet connections. With MIMO you get maximum signal stability and protection against package and data loss. This is needed because the T2 W can either stream in Pro-Ject's standard compressed format (most compatible) or in lossless 24bit/48kHz for select high-end streamers like their Stream Box S2 Ultra. The system is multi-room capable as well, meaning you could send hundreds of audio streams to as many receiving devices as you like before the T2 W multi-core CPU or Wi-Fi bandwidth begin to limit performance. The Pro-Ject Control App offers a fast and intuitive user experience while the Wi-Fi setup can be effortlessly accomplished through modern BLE functionality, simplifying the setup process.

Built from the Highest-Quality Materials

Building on the T1, the elegantly crafted CNC-machined plinth is larger and more massive to enhance stability. It’s available in three striking finishes: gloss black, satin white and walnut laminate. It boasts no plastic components. Thoughtful design eliminates hollow spaces, preventing unwanted resonance within the chassis. The T2 W also uses a thicker, heavier glass record platter, ensuring a zero-resonance design that effectively eliminates the shortcomings associated with plastic or light-weight steel alternatives. Complementing these improvements are purpose-selected turntable isolation feet that separate the T2 W from ambient vibrations present in the vicinity of your hi-fi system.

Speed Control, Motor & Drive System

The motor and drive system in the T2 W remain identical to those found in the T1. The motor drives a belt that in turn drives the newly designed sub-platter that’s exclusive to the T-line. This sub-platter is mounted on an ultra-precise (within 0.001mm) main bearing with hardened steel axle and brass bushing. Where most alternative products may use unregulated DC motors with wide speed fluctuations, the T2 W features Pro-Ject's well-established, electronically-regulated precision-speed AC motor. The T2 W also comes with electronic speed-switching between 33 & 45rpm. The result is a low-noise, highly-stable drive system for the record platter.

New Tonearm & Anti-Skate System

The tonearm on the T2 W has been improved with a longer arm tube. With its 9″ effective length and stiff aluminum construction, this one-piece tonearm also features newly updated low-friction bearings to accommodate the increased length and diameter, leading to absolute accuracy in operation. The one-piece design limits unwanted resonance and is a big improvement over other detachable, screwed-on or glued-on headshells! The T2 W also includes the latest adjustable spring-based anti-skating mechanism for easier setup and optimal performance of your phono cartridge.

Premium Built-In Phono Stage

The T2 W has a high-quality dual-stage split-passive MM phono preamp. This is the first time a Pro-Ject turntable has used an integrated phono-preamp of this quality. Pro-Ject considered this a necessity in order to maximize performance over Wi-Fi. They chose a truly stunning phono stage circuit to give the T2 W unrivaled audio performance & maximum longevity. Supplied with a high-value Sumiko Rainier MM cartridge ($149 value), this is a true hi-fi playback system with no corners cut in its design.
