The High Notes
Wow Value Factor

Wow Value Factor

The Aurora 700 could be the best tower speaker we have ever heard for its cost. It has a very extended but smooth top end, effortless midrange, with pinpoint imaging, but what really impressed us was how fast, deep, and dynamic the bass tones are delivered.
German Designed & Engineered

German Designed & Engineered

You get the precision of German engineering in the Aurora models. Their Fluktus tweeter, Kraft Paper Cone woofer, resonance reducing cabinets and more all go into making these models sound far better than they should for what they cost, plus they are beautiful and built to last.
Magnificent Cabinet Design

Magnificent Cabinet Design

The L-shaped piece of resin added to all of the Aurora models that already have almost 1" thick cabinet walls is very impressive. It reduces resonance and looks so beautiful coupled with the two color choices. And you can not see the PVC damping that goes inside the cabinet!

The Heco 700 German designed speaker could be one of the best values ever in a floor standing speaker! It’s a true 3 way design with dual woofers, has a very inert cabinet with high performance outrigger feet. It is extremely sensitive making it very easy to drive with a modest amp delivering impressive dynamics and deep bass you would not expect for this price.

You’ll find the highs extremely silky and smooth with very even dispersion due to Heco’s heralded Fluktus tweeter which gives you the dynamics of a horn driver with even better room filling sound.

With almost 1” thick cabinet walls with their unique L shaped resin baffle, the Kraft paper cone woofers and midrange driver are able to deliver accurate and fast response.

When most people hear these, they think they are worth twice their price or more. Their high dynamics mean you will hear more of the small details in your music that you never knew existed. Throw in a huge soundstage with deep bass and you know why this speaker is so highly regarded.

Incredible speakers at a crazy good price point!

I've had my pair of Aurora 700 for a year now. They have broken in along with a new Denon PMA-1700ne, and the sound is just crazy good. Very smooth, very full and rich sound. Excellent imaging with a soundstage that is like being in the recording studio. These are really nice speakers with an incredibly sexy, 3-D look. I always keep the grills on, I think they look so classy and suits our decor. If you want old school sounding, but better, modern speakers, the Hego Aurora 700 are made with old-school paper cones, so nothing shiney and new-age, but you are rewarded with articulate, accurate, powerful sound every time. I so look forward to listening to my HiFi with these speakers. Highly recommend Heco Aurora Series, just a shame they are so difficult to get in this country. But Audio Advice was wonderful with my purchase and I'm so glad I own a pair. Get the Heco Aurora 700. You'll love the sound!

absolutely phenomenal

I drove to Raleigh to buy a floor model SVS Ultra tower floor model for 1/2 price. We listened to it an weren't overly impressed we then listened to six other brand s and a total of 7 speakers. Honestly the Revels and Sonus Faber were better than the Hero's but they were over twice the price. We listened to Paradigm, B&W, and KEF, we liked the aurora 700 better. The salesman had the aurora 1000's on sale floor model we then began comparing the 700 to the 1000. The 1000 had a slightly deeper bass but didn't sound as clear and open as the 700 my guess is the slightly wider baffle on the 1000 might be why but I am no speaker engineer. We bought the Aurora 700 and I couldn't be happier. Steve was very helpful we were there pretty late and he had speakers set up and didn't hesitate to set up others for our comparison also he used the exact same amp I have. Bought there a week earlier so we listened to exactly what we bought.

HECO Aurora 700

Andrew Robinson removed the review because he said they were being discontinued. They are discontinued with Just Audio who sponsors his channel. I found that a tad disingenuous as the way Andrew made it sound was that HECO was no longer going to sell in the USA. Andrew does say he stands by his review of the Heco Auroro 700s though and that they were a great speaker.

Magnificent Sound!

Heco (Hay-co) Aurora 700 Review...in one word...incredible. If you want to skip the review and just go to Audio Advice or Amazon (fastest shipping) and buy a pair, that is my recomendation. These speakers are just that good. I bought these to replace a new pair of Emotiva T1+ that I just received for a HiFi system I was assembling. As good as the T1+ are, they just weren't what I was looking for.

The Heco Aurora 700 is a class-act. Outstanding build quality, with fit & finish about as flawless as simulated wood-grain vinyl wrap can be. The build quality is easily on-par with the build quality of my MartinLogans.

The hidden magnetic grills are just great. They go on and never need to be adjusted to be square on the speaker face.

The 'L' shaped front baffle is matte (flat) black, and it looks & feels like what a high quality material should feel like, and gives the speaker that extra nudge into 'classy'looking.

These are tall speakers that 'tower' (hahaha) over my Hi-Fi system. The outriggers are made of high quality, high strength resin/ABS plastic that the user bolts to the bottom of the cabinet using the supplied hardware and supplied allen wrench. The supplied adjustable cone feet look and feel substantial, and they are.

Paired with a modest Denon PMA-600NE, the Heco Aurora 700 sound is jaw-dropping. At least my jaw dropped. The crossover is phenominal for a speaker that costs so little. The transitions from sub-bass to bass to midrange to the crstyl clear, but not shrill and fatiguing, highs are just butter smooth from the bottom to the top. This pairing is far beyond being 'entry-level' equipment. I feel this combination of integrated amplifier and Heco Aurora 700 is the epitome of HiFi, and will please the most discerning of listeners.

I used a wide range of music for my auditioning and can recommend this material for auditioning any speaker for music. In no particular order, here are just a few pieces I used:

Jazz Varients - Ozone Percussion Group
Walking on the moon - The Police
Seeya - Deadmau5
Dirtywork - Steely Dan
Big Iron - Marty Robbins
Pride & Joy - Stevie Ray Vaughn
What you give - Tesla
Blade Runner - Blade Runner 2049
Ode to Billy Joe - Halie Loran
Jump into the fire - Harry Nelsson
Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond
Bass & Drum Into - Nils Lofgren
Two Step - The Central Park Concert; Dave Matthews Band
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly - Danish National Symphony Orchestra

The Heco Aurora 700 towers handled all the music with finesse, control, spaciousness when called for, and localized when called for. These are not 'in-your-face speakers by any stretch of the imagination. They aren't held back but vocals are front and center. Ode To Billy Joe by Halie Loran is an extremely fine example of this.

Bass - WOW! Deep, powerful bass in total control and pitch, the Aurora 700 does not disappoint but rather, amazes at what a pair of 6.5-inch woofers can do. Clean, powerful yet refined bass. Joyous bass! No subwoofer needed for frequency or power, bass! Smile on your face, bass.

In conclusion, I recommend these speakers at this price point as they can easily match the sound quality, maybe not aesthetics, but sound quality (no other reason to buy a speaker in my opinion) of speakers up to $2000. The Heco Aurora 700 are currently well under $500 shipped. It's too bad these have to be imported and aren't more readily available.

Great speakers for the price.

I've had these for 4 or 5 months now and Love them. Also bought afer Andrew Robinson's review. Got them to replace Klipsch floorstanders in my home theater system. These sounded much better to me, but the denon receiver was holding them back for stereo listening. I bought an external dac and a streamer and a Musical Fidelity 2si Amp and it really brought the Heco's to life. I use a sub with them and I am super happy with the sound in a smallish room. 13x19
