Overview

The Eversolo AMP-F10 is not just an amplifier but the dream choice for your audio systems. Whether you’re an audiophile or a home theater lover, the AMP-F10 delivers an unrivaled auditory experience.

Eversolo, a newcomer to the music streaming market, quickly identified a gap in the industry just a few years ago. In response, they launched their highly acclaimed A6, A6 Master Edition, and A8 music streamers. These devices became instant hits, praised for their premium components, user-friendly app, and an unbeatable value that left many customers impressed by how much they got for the price.

Fast forward to today, and Eversolo has taken things to the next level with the release of their flagship music streamer, the A10. Packed with even more advanced features and premium components, it’s designed for listeners who are looking for exceptional detail and clarity in their music. We’ve done a full review of the A10. But here’s the bottom line: we were thoroughly impressed with its capabilities and overall sound.

Is the AMP-F10 the Missing Piece?

The only thing that would really bring the A10 to the next level would be a matching amplifier. Well, our wishes were granted. We’re excited to introduce the 2-channel Eversolo AMP-F10, a 200W per channel Class AB amplifier that perfectly matches the aesthetics of the A10, so you can stack the two together to create a system that is sure to bring your music to life. So, let’s dive in and take a look at what the AMP-F10 has to offer and if it would be the right fit for you.

The Amp-F10 isn’t Eversolo’s first amplifier. They previously released the Amp-F2, a class D amp developed in collaboration with Starke Sound that could output 145 watts at 8 ohms. And while it looked nice with the A6 and A6 Master Edition, we found that there were so many other amps that we enjoyed with our Eversolo test units. The new F10, on the other hand, is a whole new story. It’s a much more premium product that Eversolo developed themselves that is set to once again compete with products in a higher price category like the A10. And this time, it’s not just an amp to match aesthetically with the A10 streamer; it brings the guts to be a very worthy amplifier that’s worth considering, even if you don’t own the A10.

Features & Technology

The F10 comes in around 17 inches wide and 12 inches deep, the same size as A10. However, it’s about an inch taller at 5.7 inches. It’s also quite heavy, thanks to its 1000-watt toroidal transformer power supply and other high end components inside that we will discuss shortly. The fit and finish match the A10 to a tee. It features the same exact dark brushed metal look with the new heat sink fins on the side and the same Eversolo logo and power button as the A10. However, instead of a touchscreen on the front, there is a simply the power button and a window that shows two real VU meters. There are even small lights inside to highlight the new meters, giving it a super classy and upscale look.

It has small feet on it that give it enough space to allow both units to breathe properly when stacking the F10 on top of the A10. We’re big fans of the appearance of these new units and absolutely love the look of them stacked together. It may not be what you’re traditionally used to seeing, but we’re happy to see Eversolo give us a futuristic vibe with a touch of classic looks in it with the analog VU meters.

Eversolo AMP-F10 rear view

Looking at the back of the amp, you have your left and right speaker outputs, standby switch mode switch, and trigger in and outs. The standby mode switch allows you to set the unit to wake up via trigger or manual by turning it on yourself or booting up when it hears an incoming signal. You also get a switch to change the sensitivity to 29DB or 23DB; this can come in handy based on the output levels of your streamer/preamp and/or speakers. The audiophiles on our support team will be more than happy to help you determine which is best for your system. There is also a switch to change it from Stereo if you’re just using one amp or “Bridge” if you plan on pairing two of the F10s together. In addition, you have balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs with a switch to indicate which one you are using. If the source or preamp you are connecting to the F10 has balanced audio outs, we recommend them in most cases. The balanced feed eliminates any noise the cables might pick up, which is especially important if you have a long cable run, which happens when people put the power amp closer to their speakers. It is really a nice touch to see this at this price point. However, we will point out that it has balanced inputs for the advantage balanced cables offer in noise reduction, but the internal audio path is not fully balanced.

If you decide you want to pair up two F10 amps and use them in Bridge mode, you can get up to 650 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 950 watts per channel at 4 ohms. One amp F10 will get you 200 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 320 watts per channel at 4 ohms. Now, this is quite impressive and has plenty of power to drive most modern speakers today. To complement its power, Eversolo has also stated it has an ultra-low total harmonic distortion of 0.008% and a signal-to-noise ratio of 113 dB.

What’s Inside the AMP-F10?

Alright, let’s now take a look inside the new F10 amp. First, this is a Class AB amplifier that runs at Class A at low power and then switches to Class AB at higher demands. It has a large 1000-watt toroidal transformer, which is a dual-channel independent linear power supply. Since the channels are separated, this will help prevent interference between the two channels but also give each channel dedicated current. With a powerful 1000-watt reserve of power, you can be sure your music with dynamic passages is handled with ease. In addition, they’ve included five pairs of high-current MOSFETs per channel which really puts this in the serious amplifier league.

Eversolo has also included advanced dual differential amps inside, which are tailored for low-level audio signals. The symmetrical circuit design and negative feedback technology that they’ve used will also help to minimize distortion and expand the dynamic range of your music. Plus, the F10 has a damping factor that exceeds 600 to ensure power and clear low-frequency performance.

And finally, the F10 uses an innovative DC filtering circuit between the main AC supply and audio circuit to remove any low-frequency DC interference. This helps ensure clean AC power is delivered to the audio circuits to improve their performance. Now, this all might sound a little technical, but suffice it to say that Eversolo has definitely put a ton of thought into this new amp, and it is a huge step up from their first F2 amp in just about every single way.

Performance Testing

With all the technical stuff aside, we know a lot of people will want to know how this Amp F10 sounds and if it will be the best fit for them. So we put it to the test with multiple different speakers from brands like Sonus Faber, Focal, and Bowers & Wilkins to really get a good feel for it was capable of. Listening to tracks from different genres showed us that this amp has a very detailed sound. If you are a very analytical listener, this amp will be a great option for you. We did find it to be a bit on the lean or, as some might say, analytical side when compared to other options in this price class, but each and every instrument or voice was placed perfectly in the soundstage that it delivered. No, it’s not going to sound as warm and lively as a more expensive tube amp, but it doesn’t seem like that is what Eversolo is going for here. Instead, you have a very solidly built amplifier that matches up perfectly with the Eversolo A10 preamp/streamer. So, if you own the A10 or are a big fan of Eversolo and are into very detailed sound, the F10 might be an obvious choice to pair up, and you’re ready to go. You can even add a second one down the road and bridge them together for more power.

However, if you’re really into the sound and want to explore more options that might sound different in this price range, there are a lot of options out there from classic brands like Marantz, Rotel, Anthem, NAD, and more that we feel are worthy options that could potentially be a much better match for you.

Overall Recommendation

So, our best advice here would be that if you own the A10 and are set on Eversolo and want to match aesthetics, the F10 will be your best bet. But if you want to explore more, please stop by one of our award-winning showrooms or reach out to our team of experts. We can help you out by learning about your setup and listening styles and recommending the best fit for you.

All in all, we have to give props to Eversolo for venturing into the world of amplifiers to pair up with their extremely great streamer products. We believe they will take the learnings of these new A10 and F10 units that are much higher end and hopefully trickle them down into their other more affordable options down the line. It’s great to see more competition in the market and to have companies continue to push the limits of what's possible in the world of audio.
