Overview

Unheard of reference subwoofer performance for the price and also for its compact size differentiate the SB-3000 subwoofer from anything available. A sophisticated 800 watts RMS, 2,500+ watts peak power Sledge STA-800D2 DSP amplifier, innovative new 13-inch high-excursion SVS driver and an optimized sealed cabinet design take control of a room with deeper bass and higher output levels than what is typically possible from a relatively compact subwoofer. An ideal solution for reference bass in audiophile music systems or home theaters, the SB-3000 sets all performance benchmarks at its price and leaves larger and more expensive subs trembling in its wake.

Totally happy

The SB 3000 is worth every penny. Tight bass down to 20 hz…it will easily energize most medium sized rooms. Replaced a very good Velodyne DD12 and I’d say it is better. Great value.

Noise Floor

Let me preface this conversation by stating that I have Vulcan ears. Let me also say that I once worked in a very high end audio shop in Mt. View, CA. . . Muons, Blades, $55k turntables, etc. Hence, I have some mild experience & have heard all manner of audio equip. Currently, my entire home theater is SVS ultra. . . towers, center, surrounds. I have had the SVS SB-1000s, then upgraded to 2000 Pro. With respect to the aforementioned 2, yes I could hear a very mild and/or faint noise floor with my ear right on top of the cone. However, when I backed away to the listening position (10'-12') it disappeared.

I then decided to take a step up using the SVS upgrade program to the SB-3000s. The noise floor on these was nearly twice as audible, & I could most definitely hear them from the listening position. SVS sent me 2 amps. One was DOA, & the 2nd was a tad worse than the originals. I was told that the SB-4000 & Ultras don't have this issue. Strange how the "monkey-in -the-middle" of their lineup is the only one to have that issue.

I was told by someone @ SVS that most people don't have a problem with noise floor in the 3000s, or don't care. Further, I was told that I am in the 1% that can hear it. I guess they don't engineer it for the minority that have exceptional hearing. I suppose my "OCD" is some form of disability. Isn't that some form of racism? ;) Needless to say, I sent them back & reinstated the SB-2000 Pros to my system. On a positive note, SVS did say they would keep my upgrade program open indefinitely until they can resolve the issue.

i was more than happy

i have never owned a proper sub and decided to take the plunge--with the help of audio advice. i asked them to recommend a proper sub for my ca cxa81 and they recommended the sb3000. after hours of my own research, i decided to try it out. i hooked everything up(very easily) and sat down in my chair.......i was truly amazed! i jumped up and had a big smile on my face. i quickly realized i had to do some fine-tuning and tried a couple different locations. with the svs app, it was so easy to tweak the sub. fast forward about ten days and i am very pleased with my sub. since it is so easy to do, i still play around with the settings and it fits into my system nicely. when set properly, i do not even know it is there! but, turn it off and you will surely notice. thanks svs and audio advice!

Dual SB-3000's in the Cave

Purchased a pair of 3000's for the man cave and running them with a Anthem 720, old school JBL L7 floors and Def Tech sides and rears for my surround. I'm 90% music so the surround set up isn't that important to me but running the system in analog-music format and finally getting the subs dialed in I'm happy with the low end from these subs. It takes a while to find the sweet spot but ended up with both subs on the outside of each front floor. Small footprint helps and the addition of the SoundPath isolation feet kept them from walking on the LVT flooring and firmed up the bass.
