TOP NOTCH ALL THE WAY AAA+++++++

I WAS A HI-FI/AUDIOPHILE BACK IN THE LATE 1970'S AND EARLY 1980'S AND GROWING UP DURING THAT TIME WAS JUST FREAKIN AWESOME IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF! I DID SOME CAR STEREO FOR A LIVING AND ALSO SOME PART TIME SOUND ENGINEERING TOO! I HAD ALL OF THE BEST BRAND NAME RECEIVERS AND THE BIGGEST SPEAKERS IN MY BEDROOM AND ALL OF MY CARS ALSO! I HAVE THIS SONY RECEIVER HOOKED UP TO A PAIR OF CERWIN VEGA D-1 SPEAKERS WITH AN UPDATED WOOFER IN THEM AND WHEN I PLAY EITHER A CD OR SOME VINYL THROUGH THIS BABY AND CRANK UP SOME GOOD OLD ROCK & ROLL OR HEAVY METAL IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BAND IS PLAYING RIGHT THERE IN MY LIVING ROOM!! SO HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR AND ROCK ON EVERYBODY!

not the one for me, but A+++ for customer support from Audio Advice!

I purchased this receiver to replace my old Pioneer without checking the wattage. When I received it I was disappointed that it did not have near the power of my old workhorse, so I ended u returning it.

But what I really want to talk about here is the service and support from Audio Advice. Initially when I got the receiver and hooked it up I couldn't figure out why my speakers sounded so low and tinny. Thought I was doing something wrong hooking it up. I gritted my teeth and decided to reach out to Audio Advice and see if they could help me out. Now I've chatted with a lot of support teams online and seldom is it a positive experience. I usually end up frustrated and facing the same problem when it's over. Greg was very patient with me, and helped me ascertain the problem (not the equipment's fault), and also assisted me with navigating the return process. Polite and professional throughout our online interaction. When I received the return label, I realized that it printed really small, so I went back into the chat support and Chris promptly emailed me a replacement label. I just want to say thank you Audio Advice for a great experience. This item was not for me, but you have gained a customer for life! I will be saving my pennies and purchasing the turntable of my dreams from you in the near future.

Nice receiver

Hooked it up to my Kenwood system and it worked great, I even have fm reception, which I heard was spotty, I have no regrets on buying this as it is great for the price point

More than enough

Years ago, in the mid 1980’s, I was a somewhat audiophile. At that time, the limitations concerning the hobby was financial. Recently, I decided to get back into the hobby. Though money is not as big an obstacle as before it is still a big consideration. With that in mind I began my search.

I knew that the amplifier is the heart of the system. And a stereo receiver was a combo of the amplifier and a tuner. Most hifi enthusiasts consider that combo a proper alignment because seldom is it necessary to split the two into separate components. I do like FM music especially during the day while working around the house.

Searching for a good receiver was not all that difficult. I wanted to come in under $200, wanted sufficient power, good sound, a phono preamp, Bluetooth capability, and the ability to bring in FM stations.

This Sony Receiver does all of that reasonably well. It has plenty of power, runs my Sony ps300 turntable, and easily pushes great sound from my smart phone’s music collection. All well done well with power and little distortion. I am well pleased... except for one problem, the FM reception, it’s terrible.

I don’t blame the tuner, it appears to be the FM antenna. It’s a flimsy cord like wire that uses a dedicated plug in the rear of the receiver. However, I have found a way to overcome this problem.

I downloaded an app to my smart phone that enables it to function as a AM/FM radio. It clearly brings in a large amount of stations, more than I will ever need. From there, simply pair the phone with the receiver and thus I have a fully functioning AM/FM receiver.

So, I can say this receiver has supplied all my listening needs and due to the extra inputs any more that may arise. You will need a smart phone to get good reception, but the power and clarity are all the amps.

Easily recommend.
